So Far ………..

After the completion of alterations to the Warrigal works depot at 121b Industrial Road, Oak Flats an occupation Certificate was issued by Shelharbour Council. A significant amount of work by existing members was carried out and  Southern Illawarra Men’s Shed is now fully operational. We are pleased with all the new machinery and the dust extractor , we are now “open for business”.

The shed is open to men of all ages who have retired or currently unemployed, etc. and who:-

  • are too often getting under their wife’s feet and need a new interest

  • would like to develop (or re-learn) in safe working environment, the basic and advanced use of power tools from men who are experienced with those tools.

  • wish to engage in their own woodwork or metalwork projects, eg.  creating or restoring toys, furniture, etc. for their family or local residents, schools and community-based organisations.

  • would just like the opportunity to come and have a yarn and a cuppa.

  • would like to chat about improving health and well-being, by being productive, contributing to their community, making new friends and maintaining an active body and mind.
